Limbah agroindustri telah lama menjadi tantangan dalam pengelolaan lingkungan, terutama dengan meningkatnya volume produksi pertanian dan industri makanan. Namun, di era modern, pendekatan inovatif menawarkan solusi berkelanjutan dengan memanfaatkan limbah tersebut sebagai pakan ternak unggas. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi potensi limbah agroindustri, seperti daun ubi kayu, kulit ubikayu/kulit singkong, ampas, dan sisa fermentasi, yang kaya akan nutrisi namun sering kali terbuang percuma. Dengan teknologi pengolahan yang tepat, limbah ini dapat diubah menjadi pakan bernilai tinggi yang tidak hanya memenuhi kebutuhan nutrisi unggas, tetapi juga menekan biaya produksi peternak. Artikel ini juga membahas tantangan teknis, regulasi, dan sosial yang dihadapi dalam penerapan skema ini, serta dampak positif terhadap lingkungan, ekonomi, dan keberlanjutan sektor peternakan. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan limbah agroindustri sebagai pakan unggas merupakan langkah strategis dalam mendukung ekonomi sirkular dan mewujudkan peternakan yang ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

Agro-industrial waste has long been a challenge in environmental management, especially with the increasing volume of agricultural and food industrial production. However, in the modern era, innovative approaches offer sustainable solutions by utilizing this waste as poultry feed. This research explores the potential of agro-industrial waste, such as seed husks, dregs and fermentation residue, which are rich in nutrients but are often wasted. With the right processing technology, this waste can be converted into high-value feed that not only meets the nutritional needs of poultry, but also reduces production costs for farmers. This article also discusses the technical, regulatory and social challenges faced in implementing this scheme, as well as the positive impacts on the environment, economy and sustainability of the livestock sector. The study results show that the use of agro-industrial waste as poultry feed is a strategic step in supporting a circular economy and realizing environmentally friendly livestock.
